Charles and Betty Torreyson Collection
This collection contains nine folders of correspondence sent to the Torreysons mostly between February and April of 1942. It includes a selection of congratulations cards on the birth of their son and of sympathy cards upon his subsequent death, as well as some general correspondence.

This collection contains nine folders of correspondence sent to the Torreysons of Knoxville, mostly between February and April of 1942.
Biographical/Historical Note
Charles Torreyson was born on September 12, 1902 in Arkansas to parents Cornelius Torreyson and Mary Belle Davis. Around 1922, he moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. About 1930, he then lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Four years later, his mother died in Memphis, Tennessee. The year following his mother's death, Torreyson moved Missouri. Sometime between 1930 and 1940, he married Betty Tucker (1911-1985). In 1940, the couple resided in Knoxville. The following year, Torreyson's father also died in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1952, Charles Torreryson was living in Kentucky where he lived until his death on December 6, 1973.
