This daily journal of Lucius Polk Brown was written in every day of 1921 and contains detailed information of his daily routines, his work, the trips he took, and operation of his several farms in Spring Hill and the Nashville area of Tennessee.

Biographical/Historical Note

Lucius Polk Brown (1867-1935) was born in Maury, Tennessee, on August 1, 1867 to Campbell (1843-1893) and Susan Rebecca Polk (1847-1922). He was married twice, first to Jesse Roberts (1871-1897), on January 30, 1895, and after she passed, he married Susan Massie (1871- ) on December 12, 1903. Brown managed a well-known family farm, Ewell Farm, and two plantations, Spring Hill and Melrose, for many years.
