This collection consists of the Turley family photo album, two photographs, and two negatives. Also in the Turley album are relatives, such as the McFarlands.

Biographical/Historical Note

William Holliday Turley was born between 1826 and 1829 to Thomas and [Desdemona Taylor] Turley, made colonel in the army, and died around 1899. He married Mary McFarland, sister of Mayor William McFarland of Morristown, in about 1857, and the couple had seven children: Mary (married Wilson), Margaret (married Grant), Jessie, Annie, Willie, Emma (married Harrison), and Ellen. Margaret (1869-1945) married Ed Grant, mayor of Morristown (1903-06, 1911-14).

Collection consists of two folders.

Acquisition Note

Collection donated in August 1995 and in 2005 by Mary McFarland (Wilson) Franklin, daughter of Mary McFarland (Turley) Wilson.
