Abstract
This collection houses correspondence, photographs, certificates, manuals, and newspaper articles documenting Dalmatian Tally Ho Hannah, who served in the Marine Corps as a war dog during World War II.
Biographical/Historical Note
Tally Ho Hannah was a Dalmatian belonging to Walter Hannah of Danville, Kentucky. Hannah volunteered Tally Ho for service in the Marine Corps as a war dog in 1943, and Tally Ho worked in Florida and North Carolina before being honorably discharged in 1945 because he lacked the necessary physical and temperamental qualifications necessary for a Marine combat dog.
