Biographical/Historical Note
The University of Tennessee Press was established in 1940 as press for scholarly works. The press has printed many important works such as Intellectual Life in the Colonial South by Richard Beale Davis and Encyclopedia of Appalachia. The press, with the Tennessee Historical Society, launched its first online project in 2003. The University of Tennessee Press still continues to print scholarly works.
