Alfred Roessel/German POW Letter
This collection consists of a letter from Alfred Roessel, a German POW being held in Camp Crossville, Tenn., to his wife, Irmgard Roessel, in Leipzig, Germany. It discusses the weather in Crossville, the camp's scenery, and various of Roessel's activities. It also lets Irmgard know that her lovely photograph arrived safely, and conveys greetings to his family. The letter is written on aerogram stationary labelled in English, German, Italian, and Japanese and bears a U. S. Censor's stamp.
