This collection consists of a 66-page booklet entitled "Minutes of the Sixth Annual Meeting of the Association of Confederate Soldiers (Tennessee Division)." This meeting was held on October 18, 1893 in Jackson, Tennessee. The booklet includes welcoming speeches, news of personnel changes in the various Bivouacs, information regarding the Confederate Soldiers' Home (a facility for aging Confederate veterans living in Tennessee), requirements for admission into the Association, an account of the election of officers for the coming year, and finally a description of two receptions following the formal meeting. The document's appendix provides information regarding Confederate organizations in Tennessee and a full roster of the members of the Association of Confederate Soldiers, including members who had died.

Biographical/Historical Note
The Association of Confederate Soldiers (Tennessee) was officially chartered in 1887. Its goals included funding the construction of a monument to Confederate valor, caring for Confederate graves, encouraging accounts of the Civil War that would honor and defend the Confederate cause, and finally bringing living veterans closer through programs designed to benefit ailing Confederate veterans and needy Confederate widows and orphans. The association also held annual reunions, the last of which took place in 1951.
