Collection contains playbills, almost exclusively from Broadway productions, from 1956-1967. Among the playbills included are: Long Day's Journey into Night, West Side Story, Look Homeward Angel, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and All the Way Home (the Broadway play based on James Agee's A Death in the Family). Most playbills include a ticket stub and a short critique of the play written by the owner. Also included in the collection are numerous newspaper clippings and advertisements relating to the shows.

Biographical/Historical Note

A Broadway show is any musical, play, or variety show staged on New York's famed street, Broadway. Home to 39 professional theatres, shows staged on Broadway are generally considered the highest level of English language theatre. Broadway shows may run for days (flops), weeks (successes), or years (hits).
