Biographical/Historical Note

Judge Robert L. Taylor, Jr. (b.1899 - d.1987) was born in Embreeville, Tenn. on December 20, 1899. Judge Robert L. Taylor served as federal district judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee on Knoxville from 1949 until taking senior status in 1985. He was elected District Judge Representative from the Sixth Circuit to the Judicial Conference of the United States in 1972 and was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States on 1973.
