Biographical/Historical Note
Frederick Augustus William "Bill" Davis (1893-1952) graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1915 with a bachelor's of science in civil engineering. He moved to east Tennessee in the 1920s to work at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). At TVA, he was an assistant mining engineer for the Minerals Testing Laboratory.
