Biographical/Historical Note
Andrew Tousley was born to Joel F. and Susan (McBride) Tousley in Summit County, Ohio on April 10, 1842. He was one of thirteen children, including Mary V., Rebecca, John, Esther A., Joseph C. (1840-1919), Albert M. (1844-1927), William, Joel Thaddeus (1846-1902), Susan Louise, Alice Celinda (Tousley) Myers (1851-1928), Malissa (1853-1854), and Henry Watson (1856-1908). During the Civil War, Andrew Tousley served with the 64th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. This unit was stationed in Mississippi and Kentucky before participating in the Tullahoma and Atlanta Campaigns. Tousley died in Jonesboro, Georgia on September 3, 1864 and is buried in Marietta National Cemetery.
