This collection houses letters and cards sent to Private First Class Eddie Herman while he was serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. The letters are from various friends and family, as well as from girlfriends in both New York and California.

This collection contains letters sent to Edward Richard Herman, Private First Class in the United States Naval Forces, by various family members, friends, and lovers while he was stationed at Guadalcanal and later the Ulithi Islands in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Edward Richard Herman was born in New York and joined the United States Navy at the start of World War II in the city of San Francisco, California as a Private Second Class. In the course of his letters, he was promoted to Private First Class.
Collection consists of one box.
