This collection consists of a black and white photograph of photographer Bob Leavens, wearing a military uniform, sitting on a statue of Buddha in Myitkina, Myanmar (formerly Burma). The photograph is from Ex-CBI Roundup, a magazine for those that served in the China, Burma, India Theater during WWII. Also included are the envelope for the photograph, postmarked December 19, 1990, and a business card for Dwight D. King, Editor-Publisher of Ex-CBI Roundup.

Biographical/Historical Note

Robert J. Leavens was born in 1915 in Pennsylvania. Prior to World War II, he worked as a photographer. He enlisted in the U. S. Army as a warrant officer in February of 1942 and served in the Pacific Theater.

Ex-CBI Roundup was a magazine for soldiers that served in the China, Burma, India Theater during WWII.
