This collection consists of genealogical information documenting John Lee, Esquire of Johnston County, North Carolina and his son Captain Thomas Lee of Hawkins County, Tennessee. These materials include photographs of gravestones, copies and transcripts of correspondence from the 1800s, genealogical records, lists of Civil War prisoners of war from 1863 to 1865, and newspaper articles.

John Lee, Esquire was born around 1690 in Northumberland County, Virginia. He died around 1766 in Johnston County, North Carolina. Captain Thomas Lee was born around 1735 in Northumberland, Virginia. He died July 2, 1816 in Hawkins County, Tennessee.
