The images depict such Southern locations as Tuskegee, Lutrell, and Montreat in addition to several antebellum homes, leisure time activities (for example a tennis match and a carnival party), landscapes, political campaigns, and groups of people.

Biographical/Historical Note

Elizabeth Vaughan Kennedy was born in April 1850 in Tennessee to William and Melissa (Garrett) Kennedy. She seems to have never married, and most likely died between 1904 and 1910.

The University of Tennessee Libraries, Knoxville, Special Collections purchased this collection on March 22, 2007.
