Biographical/Historical Note
Jacob H. Bickley was born in June of 1841 in Pennsylvania. He enlisted in Company E of the 13th Ohio Infantry on April 25, 1861 and was transferred to Company A in June of 1861. The 13th Ohio was involved in the West Virginia campaign, the battle and occupation of Nashville, the Battle of Shiloh, the siege of Corinth (Mississippi), the Middle Tennessee Campaign, and the Atlanta Campaign. Bickley was discharged on December 5, 1865 and returned to Ohio. Here, he married (his wife's name cannot be determined definitively) and later moved to Indiana, where he died on June 12, 1926.
