Abstract
This photograph depicts Squadron 3706, Flight 174 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, in February of 1966.
Biographical/Historical Note
Lackland Air Force Base is the only Basic Training Air Force site in the United States. It is located in Western San Antonio, Texas. Construction began on Lackland, then part of Kelly Air Field, in 1941. The facility was renamed Lackland AFB after Brigadier General Frank Lackland in 1948. The facility is designed to train recruits for specialized programs in the Air Force after they complete basic training.
