Biographical/Historical Note
The University of Tennessee established the Alumni Academic Hall of Fame in 1994 to honor notable alumni. Initial inductees included director Clarence Brown, journalist John Hightower, author Cormac McCarthy, and Supreme Court Justice Edward Terry Sanford.
