Biographical/Historical Note

Albert Watt Hobt Sr. (1893-1963) was an athletics coach and professor of physical education at the University of Tennessee. He joined UT in 1921 and served as the head of the physical education department until his retirement in 1961. He married Nelle Bridges Mullineux (1895-1979) in 1918 and they had one child, Albert Watt Hobt Jr. (1919-1977).

Arrangement

Collection consists of one box divided into two series: I. Poetry of Sport Articles and II. Rough or Cutout Articles from Newspapers and Magazines.

Acquisition Note

This collection was given to the University of Tennessee Library by Mrs. Nelle Hobt on May 14, 1964.
