Biographical/Historical Note

Frederick George Wolfe was born to Frederick George and Catherine M. Wolfe in Lemoore, California on April 14, 1891. He married Catherine Mary Smith (1894-1967) and died in Santa Clara, California on October 29, 1974.

Researchers should note that Wolfe's name is sometimes given as George Frederick rather than as Frederick George. The latter spelling has been used in this finding aid to reflect the order that Wolfe used when signing his name.

Acquisition Note

Fred G. Wolfe donated these materials to the University of Tennessee's Special Collections Library between 1966 and 1971.
