Jo Lynn Cunningham Collection on Child and Family Studies
This collection consists primarily of pamphlets issued by a number of organizations discussing various child studies topics. There are also several pamphlets about child welfare published by the State University of Iowa. Several of these pamphlets are stamped "Home Economics Library -- University of Tennessee." Also included is a manual entitled "The Making of Soft Toys" by C. Elliot Edlmann, which contains large sewing patterns for soft toys.

Biographical/Historical Note
Jo Lynn Cunningham received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas and her Masters and Ph.D. in Child and Family Studies from Michigan State University. She taught Michigan State University and most recently at the University of Tennessee in the Department of Child and Family Studies. Her studies focus on connections between individuals, families, and other social systems (for example, education, health, religion, and public policy). She has worked extensively with program evaluation, including local, state, and national programs for children, youth, and adults. Among these programs are teen pregnancy prevention, Head Start, nutrition education, Freedom Schools, passenger safety education, early childhood education, family life education, child abuse prevention, and faith-based programs.
