This collection consists of correspondence, court transcripts, financial papers, and other papers from Albert Gallatin Welcker, a lawyer in Cleveland, Tennessee. The papers are both of personal and professional nature.

Biographical/Historical Note

Albert Gallatin Welcker was born November 25, 1823 in Roane County, Tennessee to John Henry Welcker & Elizabeth Inman. He married Nancy White Park on November 8, 1847 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The couple had six children. Albert was a lawyer in East Tennessee in the mid-1800s. He died on May 4, 1868 in Cleveland, Tennessee at the age of forty-five.
