This collection contains an eight page biographical piece on Joshua Caldwell written by Mrs. George McCulley.
Biographical/Historical Note
Joshua Caldwell was born in Athens, Tennessee, on February 3, 1856 to Alfred and Jane Dalton Ewing Caldwell. Caldwell attended the University of Tennessee and was admitted to the Bar in 1887. He wrote "Constitutional History of Tennessee" and served as Trustee of Lawson McGhee Library. He was also a founding member of the Irving Club. He married Kate Moore Caldwell, and they had three children - Harriett, Katherine, and John Barnard. He passed away January 18, 1909 from pneumonia.
