Abstract

The Kaiser Brothers Day Book Collection contains ledgers from the Kaiser Brothers from October-December 1932. This collection contains warehouse documentation of the wholesale items.

Biographical/Historical Note

Meyer Kaiser, a wholesale and retail grocer of the store, died in 1861. The son of Meyer Kaiser, Joseph Kaiser, started book keeping for his brother in the wholesale store until 1880. Joseph Kaiser became real estate dealer and eventually was elected as the President of Kaiser Land and Fruit Company. The Kaisers has 2,700 acres of ranch property as of 1887.
