Biographical/Historical Note
Katherine Keogh White was born on December 24, 1866, to Thomas and Margaret (Keogh) White. She wrote The King’s Mountain Men, which was published in 1924. She was very active in Knoxville life, being the principal of Knoxville High School, founder of the Newman Circle, vice president of the East Tennessee Historical Society, and a member of the Ossoli Circle and the D.A.R. chapter. Kate White died on April 8, 1938.
