Biographical/Historical Note
William Rawls married Susan B. Dickason (1819-1842) on June 8, 1837. The couple had one child, Mary Olivia (1842-1917), before Susan (Dickason) Rawls' death from tuberculosis in 1842. William Rawls died in 1844, and his orphaned daughter was adopted by Robert S. and Susan (Goodrum) Mills.
Mary Olivia (Rawls) Mills married William Patton Hoskins (1838-1902) on September 26, 1860, and the couple had ten children: George Robert Rawls (1861-1861), Leila Susan (Hoskins) Cox (1863-1939), Nellie Temple (1866-1918), Clarence Edgar (1868-1869), James Dickason (1870-1960), William (1872-1873), Lynn Wood (1874-1949), Horace Mills (1876-1934), Bessie Olivia (Hoskins) Beeler (1878-1963), and Mary Margaret (1882-1908).
