This collection houses a monthly student report from the Hampden-Sydney School of Knoxville, Tenn., for Mallie Ross.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Hampden-Sydney School began as the Hampden-Sydney Academy for Boys in 1806. It offered courses in Latin, Greek, English, liberal arts, and the sciences. It was used as a Confederate guard house during the Civil War and returned to operating as a school in 1865.
