Biographical/Historical Note

Edythe Helen (Cox) Taylor was born on May 4, 1906 to Joseph Emory Cox (1876-1944) and Rittie Florence (Frost) Cox (1877-1947) in Knoxville, Tennessee. She attended Knoxville High School. She married George Washington Taylor (1908-1949), who served in World War II. Edythe worked as the secretary to Dr. Harry A. Curtis, Director and Chief Chemical Engineer of the Tennessee Valley Authority. She died on September 13, 1977 and is buried in Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee.
