This collection features one photograph of Reverend James Park and his wife, Phebe, in their residence.

Biographical/Historical Note

Reverend James Park, Jr. was born September 18, 1822 to James and Sophia Moody Park. He served as the pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, Tennessee from 1866-1905 and is credited with the restoration of the church in the aftermath of the Civil War. He married Phebe (sometimes spelled Phoebe) Caruthers Alexander (1825-1908) of Lexington, Virginia, and together they had nine children. He died July 14, 1912 and is buried in Old Gray Cemetery in Knoxville.
