This collection contains a photocopy of William J. McCoy Jr.'s article "Recollections of an Early Fish Trap on the Holston River," which provides an account of a family vacation in 1915 to lower Holston River in Knox County, Tennessee, particularly detailing a fish trap located on the river at that time. McCoy was encouraged to write down his experience, doing so circa 1979. This collection also includes seventeen photos of family members and friends from the vacation.

Biographical/Historical Note

William J. McCoy Jr. was born October 8, 1906. He was married to Helen Chandler McCoy (1911-1995). He died January 26, 1995 and is buried in Knox County, Tennessee.
