Notebook in German
A journal written in German with entries and enclosed papers dating 1834-1873. An enclosed letter typed in German includes a translation to English dated July 1, 1845 and seems to be an introduction to the journal itself, by proposing a philosophical question and relating it to the author's Christian beliefs. The journal is not organized into particular sections, but entries and additional enclosed papers are occasionally dated, the earliest being 1834 and the latest 1873. Many free papers inside of it and certain sections toward the back include poems, sketches, notes, sheet music, a newspaper excerpt, and a small guide for children's Bible studies.
