Biographical/Historical Note
Robert Y. McReynolds was born on January 20, 1809 in Allen County, Kentucky to Robert McReynolds (1770-1850) and Sarah B. Mcdaniel (1778-1860). McReynolds joined the Methodist Episcopal Church in November 1826. He was licensed to preach in August 1828 and was appointed to the Logan Circuit as a junior preacher under John S. Barger. During the next decade, McReynolds traveled on and preached various circuits throughout the Kentucky area. McReynolds never married. He died in 1870.
