Abstract

This document, dated May 1, 1802, records Patrick Campbell's sale of seventy acres of land in Anderson County, Tennessee near Copper Ridge to William Ussery for a fee of $35.

Biographical/Historical Note

Anderson County was established by the General Assembly on November 6, 1801 using portions of Knox and Grainger counties. The county is named after Joseph Anderson (1757-1837), a former territorial judge in Knoxville and United States Senator who served the state from 1797 until 1815.
