This will, created by John Gray Blount, is a copy from 1852 of the original will from Beaufort, North Carolina.

Biographical/Historical Note

Born on September 21, 1752 in North Carolina to Jacob and Barbara Gray Blount, John Gray Blount was a surveyor, politician, and businessman. He was the younger brother of fellow businessman and politician William Blount. In 1778, John Gray married Mary Harvey and together they had six children. He died January 4, 1833.
