This will, created by Thomas Blount, is a copy from 1852 of his original will from Edgecombe, North Carolina.

Biographical/Historical Note

Thomas Blount was born on May 10, 1759 in North Carolina to Jacob and Barbara Gray Blount. Thomas worked much of his life with his business- and politically-minded brothers, John Gray and William. Thomas served in the American Revolutionary War. He was first married in 1782 to Martha Baker; following her death, he married Mary "Jackie" Sumner in 1796. Thomas died in 1812.
