Biographical/Historical Note

The Fox Film Corporation was founded in 1915 by William Fox. It was the result of a merger between two companies he established in 1913, the Greater New York Film Rental and the Box Office Attractions Company. In 1935, the Fox Film Corporation merged with Twentieth Century Pictures to form the Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation; the hyphen was removed in 1985 to create the Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, which continues to produce movies today.
