Abstract

Biographical/Historical Note
Captain Gabriel Jones Jr., was born around 1741 in Culpeper, Virginia. He married his first wife, Mary Ann Waller, in 1762, and had one daughter, Ann. He married his second wife, Martha Slaughter, in 1766, and had four children with her: Robert, Gabriel, Francis Slaughter, and Mary. Captain Jones served in the Revolutionary War, commanding one of the companies of the Culpeper Minute Men. He died in service in 1777.
