Collection contains a single signed photograph of Admiral David Farragut dressed in uniform.

Biographical / Historical

David Farragut was born on July 1, 1801 near Knoxville, Tenn. He served in the United States Navy in the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, and the Civil War. Although Farragut was a Southerner, he took the side of the Union during the Civil War and was made an admiral of the United States Navy after his service in the Civil War. Admiral Farragut died on August 14th, 1870.
