Abstract

This collection consists of a single mounted photograph of the Battle of Alamance Monument.

Biographical / Historical

The Battle of Alamance Monument, also known as the James Hunter Monument, is located at the Alamance Battleground State Historic Site near Burlington, North Carolina. The monument acknowledges the Battle of Alamance, fought in May 1771, during the Regulator Movement. The monument was erected in 1901 and features a statue of James Hunter, nicknamed “General of the Regulators."
