Abstract
Collection consists of a single black and white postcard photograph of the Rocky Mount monument in Bristol, Tennessee.
Biographical / Historical
Rocky Mount was the home of early non-Indigenous settlers to Tennessee and was the first capital of the Southwest Territory. The Rocky Mount monument is located in the Rocky Mount State Historic Site. It was dedicated by the Bristol chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in the twentieth century, but it was rededicated in 2006. The original monument shown in the photograph no longer exists, but the plaque identifying it is still available for viewing.
