This notebook, consisting of 38 typed pages, is an "Index of Documents, Letters, Newsclippings, Photographs, Portraits, Biographical Sketches and a Genealogical Chart Relative to the Family of Mrs. Edward F. McCrossin, nee Florence Niles Rogers Between the Years of 1813 and 1948." The papers in this index concern the McGhee family, the Humes family, J. A. H. Otey, the Niles family, and the Ingraham family. Also included are an extensive genealogical listing of the descendents of John Niles (d. 1693) and a family tree that begins with Moses White (father of James White) and ends with Edward F. McCrossin III. Only a few of the indexed letter transcriptions are included in this volume.
Both this index and the transcriptions of the family letters were prepared by Mrs. Irwin Brown and then copied and distributed by Edward F. McCrossin, Jr.

Biographical/Historical Note
Florence Niles Rogers was born to George H. and Amelia (Minna) Rogers near McGhee, Tennessee in 1888. She married Edward F. McCrossin (1887-1962) in 1922 and the couple had three children, Florence Marion (1924-), Helen Minna (1927-), and Edward Francis (1927-2008). Florence (Rogers) McCrossin died in New Jersey in 1978.
