Wilson-Wade Family Papers
This collection houses the military memoirs of five members of the Wilson-Wade family. Clyde Leroy Roy Wade served in the U. S. Air Force with the 334th Troop Carrier Squadron during World War II, participated in the Berlin Airlift, and returned to active duty during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was also active in the U. S. Air Defense System and in the TEAPOT atomic tests. Hubert Neville Wilson served on the USS Providence during World War II and his wife, Dewilda Helen (Meyer) Wilson was a WAVE. Clive Wellington Bare served with the 168th Infantry during World War II and his son, Clive Gordon Bare, fought in Vietnam.

Abstract

Biographical/Historical Note
All of the individuals represented in these memoirs descend from Walter Clement and Amanda Melvina (Snethen) Wilson. Both Clyde Leroy Wade and Hu. N. (Hubert Neville) Wilson are Walter and Amanda's grandsons, Clyde by Kathrina Grace (Wilson) Wade and Hu. by Clyde Hubert Wilson. Hu. Wilson married Dewilda Helen Meyer, who is also represented. Clive Wellington Bare is Walter and Amanda's great-grandson by Kathrina Grace (Wilson) Wade and her daughter, Esther Amanda (Wade) Bare. Clive Gordon Bare is Clive and Esther Bare's son.
