Abstract
This collection houses records documenting the Institute for Public Service from 1979 to 1983.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Institute for Public Service was formed by the Board of Trustees at a summer meeting 1971. One component of the institute – the Municipal Technical Advisory Service – dates back further, to 1949. It was transferred from the Division of Continuing Education when the institute was established. In 2009, the institute’s programs were folded into operations at the Jimmy Naifeh Center for Effective Leadership.
