This collection consists of a letter written by Corporal Carl Nelson Mozingo to his father. The letter is sent from France, where Mozingo served as a member of the American Expeditionary Force, and is dated November 24, 1918, shortly after the Armistice. The letter describes Mozingo's experiences in the final days of the war, serving on several fronts in France including Argonne and Verdun.

Biographical/Historical Note

Carl Nelson Mozingo was born on January 27, 1899 in Darlington, South Carolina to Jehu Pierce Mozingo and Nancy Ann Marshall. He served in World War I as a Corporal. He married Helen Eliza Ross on June 25, 1944. He died on December 10, 1976.
