Biographical/Historical Note
Jacob Litton Thomas was born on December 3, 1840. He married Lucy C. McClung on January 5, 1873 and their children include Charles, Jesse, Hugh, Jacob, Margaret, Matt, and William. Thomas was listed as a merchant in the 1880 census. On October 26, 1887 he held the 1st Annual Public Sale of A.J.C.C. Registered Jersey Cattle from the Oakwood Jersey Herd, Knoxville. He died on September 21, 1906.
