Hill Family Papers
Included is the correspondence from Robert H. Foster to his grandparents (Mr. and Mrs. G.L. Hill), mother (Ida Louise Hill ), sister (Dorothy Hill), and aunt (Mrs. Hollis Nunley) during his time served in World War II. Also included is a letter from Jean Brasfield to Mrs. Hill. In his correspondence, Foster discusses life in the military as well as places he visited while on leave. There are a total of 45 letters, some originals and others photocopies.

Biographical/Historical Note
Robert Hill Foster was was born November 9, 1923, to Robert Foster (1893-1928) and Ida Louise Hill (1898-1974). He and his wife, Bettye Jean Charles (1926-2016), were wed in 1946 after his service in World War II. In 1950, he founded Foster Funeral Home in Tracy City, Tennessee. Foster died on March 25, 1982, and is buried in Grundy County.
