Biographical/Historical Note
Francis C. Gualtiere was born on October 12, 1918. He was stationed in Panama in 1938, served in the South Pacific in the Theatre of Operations from 1942-1944 during World War II, and participated in the Guadalcanal Campaign. He died on October 28, 2006.
"Mayme" Pauline Gilbert was the daughter of Mayme L. Gilbert and Ira Lee Gilbert. She graduated from Raymond Community High School, in Raymond Illinois and served in the U.S. Marine Women's Reserve Corps in North Carolina and Virginia.
