Biographical/Historical Note
Leroy Neal was born July 30, 1923 in Dyersburg, Tennessee. He was the middle son of five brothers and was raised on a farm in Bonicord, Tennessee. Leroy married Polly Jernigan and the couple had two daughters. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on January 29, 1943 at the age of 20. He became a flight service specialist for Federal Aviation Administration. He died October 19, 2011.
