George B. McDonald Papers
This collection consists of George McDonald's photographs, military documents, and war recollections from his service in World War II. Included are photographs of the gun crew on the Alfred J. Lyon, the reunion of the 6th Aircraft Repair Unit, honorable discharge papers, a booklet on the history of the 6th Aircraft Unit, and press clippings concerning war recollections and missions.

Biographical/Historical Note
George B. McDonald was born November 9, 1921, in Washington, D.C. McDonald enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces on February 3, 1942, and served in North Africa during World War II. Following his wartime service, McDonald spent his career as a lithographer. He died June 28, 2010, and is buried in Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
