This collection contains the papers of Jack Thompson, relating to his time spent in the United States Air Force and World War II. The collection contains photocopies of several correspondences, scanned photographs of paintings on the front side of the airplanes and cities of East Asia and the Pacific, a map of Germany, and press clippings about Thompson's service.

Biographical/Historical Note

Jack A. Thompson was born on March 31, 1919. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thompson of Erwin, Tennessee. Thompson was a earning the rank of Captain by 1952 of the United States Air Force during and after World War II. Jack A. Thompson died on November 24, 1998.
